I worked as a model maker with State of Play on the BAFTA award-winning game Lumino City, helping to create the intricate handmade world used throughout the game.
Rather than creating the environments entirely digitally, Lumino City was built as a large-scale physical model using paper, card, wood and miniature components, before being photographed and brought into the game.
My role involved constructing and painting papercraft models and assets for the set, working from designs to create the detailed physical elements that formed part of Lumino City’s distinctive world.
The project brought together model making, illustration, engineering and digital design, and went on to win the BAFTA Games Award for Artistic Achievement.
